Bobbie Merica is the author of Medical Moulage: How to Make Your Simulations Come Alive, F. A. Davis Company, © 2011; Moulage! Bridging the Gap in Simulation, © 2009 book on CD and Moulage Magic! Theatrical Tricks to Bring Simulation to Life,© 2007. All works are based on her wildly popular "Moulage Mastery! Bridging the Gap TM in Simulation workshops. Ms. Merica received her certification in Moulage-The Art of Injury Simulation; Biological/Chemical/Terrorism and WMD terrorism training through TEEX. Upon discovering the absence of Moulage specific to a clinical/hospital setting, she designed and implemented the first of a series of 3D clinical wounds, moulage kits and courses that she teaches all over the country; enabling everyone to "Bridge the Gap" in Simulation. Mrs. Merica began her career as a Simulation Technologist with California State University, Chico, where her collaborative work in the development of the Rural Northern California Simulation Center earned them runner-up honors in Advance magazine 2009 Best Nursing Team contest. Shortly thereafter, Mrs. Merica accepted positions for and with Butte-Glenn Community College and Yuba Community College as a Coordinator/Technologist; assisting both counties in building a state-of-the art simulation center to benefit students and community alike. Additionally, Mrs. Merica is a panel member on the DACUM competency profile for Simulation Technology Specialist, Technologies Specialist Advisory Board member, contributing author at healthysimulations.com and guest speaker.
Mrs. Merica is available in your area. Her specialties include construction and
facilitation of Nursing Simulation programs, SimCenter design and development, curriculum implementation, policy & procedure, Simulation education and training, in addition to all aspects of Moulage including Military & Mass Casualty Events. She is currently a consultant for Yuba Community College, providing simulation program development and facility design on the new Allied Health and Simulation Center.
